Flavor Profile and Tasting Notes for Long and Short of It
Sheringham Distillery creates the Long and Short of It cocktail that combines Beacon Gin’s elegant cherry blossom notes with Aperol’s bitter orange complexity and homemade grenadine sweetness. This gin cocktail delivers a perfect balance of floral, bitter, and fruity elements that dance on your palate with each sip.
The cocktail opens with bright citrus from the lime juice, followed by the botanical complexity of Beacon Gin’s yuzu and green tea notes. Aperol adds a sophisticated bitter orange backdrop, while the homemade grenadine provides pomegranate sweetness and rose water elegance. The red vermouth ties everything together with herbal depth. This combination creates a drink that’s neither too sweet nor too bitter, making it ideal for cocktail enthusiasts who appreciate nuanced flavor profiles.
How Beacon Gin Enhances the Profile
The delicate cherry blossom and yuzu notes in Sheringham’s Beacon Gin complement the bitter orange in Aperol perfectly. The gin’s green tea elements add an herbal layer that prevents the grenadine from overwhelming the drink. For those preferring sweeter cocktails, add an extra quarter ounce of grenadine. Those wanting more botanical complexity can increase the gin portion slightly.
